in 2016, Stanesby Architecture were appointed to prepare proposals to remodel an existing farmhouse, located in the Kent countryside and next to greenbelt land.

The scheme focused on a new open plan extension, to provide space for a growing family, with a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

The scheme uses natural materials, sourced from the surrounding area, to give the building a strong contextual connection whilst reducing the carbon footprint of the building. These materials include chard timber cladding which is offset against pale flint walls.
